Hi. In this space, I am known as Kelody Fey. I am ever evolving and becoming. Talking and sharing about myself can be difficult for me, but here I go. I am going to situate myself similar to how I work to contextualize the people I work with in music therapy.
I am a millennial-aged, white, cisgender female. I would be considered short and wear prescription glasses. I am “plus sized” with creaky joints. I consider myself neurotypical, but I experience anxiety and depression. I do not have any physical or intellectual disability.
I am of Irish, Scottish, English, Eastern European, German, and French descent. I am a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and aunt. I live close to family, who are supportive. I grew up in a lower/middle class family with married parents, a brother, and a cat. My parents did not attend college and they have never owned a home. Several generations of my family have endured a history of alcoholism. Both of my parents instilled a strong work ethic in me. Throughout middle school and high school, I was a “straight A student.” I am a recovering perfectionist.
I am a wife in a heterosexual marriage. My husband and I met online. We own a home we bought in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, I am a cat mom and desperately want to be a mother to a child of my own. I have signs of PCOS and have experienced fertility issues.
I am a classically trained vocalist. I am a songwriter. I have two undergraduate degrees: Music Therapy and Music Performance. I have a master’s degree in Music Therapy, which had a strong focus in social justice and cultural humility. I am a board-certified Music Therapist/Licensed Professional Music Therapist. I specialize in hospice music therapy.
I am an avid reader. I am an artist. I am a lifelong learner. I am an Aries Sun, Libra Moon, Virgo Rising. Ennegram 4w5. INFJ-Introvert.
I am a friend. I am an ally to those experiencing marginalization.
I am a Wiccan priestess. I am a witch.
