A Witchy Way to Start the Day

I am not a morning person, I'm 100% a night owl. However, over the years I have gotten better at carving some morning time out for myself and not just go right into work mode. For a while, I found myself watching witchy videos on YouTube. Then I tried doing a daily card pull, but I wouldn’t always come back to it at the end of the day to reflect on what it meant. Occasionally, I will light a candle or some incense.
I still haven’t made this a daily routine, but I have found a love for combining tarot and oracle cards to create affirmations. I am sure I am not the first one to do this! Have you ever tried a similar technique? I love artwork in general and have collected quite a few Tarot and oracle card decks that pair well together. Some are printed by the same creator and others are not.
One of my first oracle decks was “Oracle of Mystical Moments” and later the “Tarot of Mystical Moments” was released. Both created by Catrin Welz-Stein. Below are two cards I just pulled as I write this on the Spring Equinox. I asked the cards to share a message for the Spring Season: The Three of Cups and Morning Dew Girl.

I usually take a moment to look at the imagery. In both images, the women are surrounded by circles: a hula hoop in the three of cups and a circular flower behind the Morning Dew Girl. There is greenery at their feet. Both cards have female energy.
I know the Three of Cups represents friendship and I was excited when I saw which card popped out of the deck. The guidebook also lists “celebration, community, team spirit, synergy.” I just finished writing the previous post about synergy!
Now I peek at the guide book to learn more about the Morning Dew Girl. It is lucky card 13! The description notes this image invites us to face our fears as the girl represents absorbing fears. The message encourages us to express our fears and worries.
I feel these cards are encouraging me to express my fears and worries with a trusted group of friends. In order to build friendships, I must continue to be vulnerable. I could have added vulnerability to the conditions needed to create synergy!
A more concrete affirmation could be: I trust my friends with my vulnerability.
Now let’s try two decks that were not created by the same person: “The Good Tarot” by Colette Baron-Reid and “The Sacred Forest Oracle” by Denis Linn. I did not have a specific question in mind, I just asked my spirit guides for a message. The two cards that were drawn were: Call- Purpose and True Prosperity and Spirit Guardian of Summer- Expansion. So these cards give a little bit more clues as to there meanings.

The Call card, represents the traditional Judgement card in this deck. In the Good Tarot, this card emphasizes following your true purpose and developing an authentic relationship with that purpose, yourself, others, and higher powers. “I am enough.” (Thinking back to the previous pull, one of my fears is that I am not good enough!) The Spirit Guardian of Summer appears to echo the Call card, urging us to actively pursue our dreams with passion. “Work hard, play hard”. Now is not a time to hold back. Both card feature winged creatures, indicating it is time to take flight!
So, an affirmation could be: I passionately pursue my purpose!
What are some of your current affirmations? What are some of your favorite Tarot and/pr Oracle card pairings?
I've been taking a moment when I'm first alone in the morning to sit at my desk, light some incense, and just breathe. I haven't been feeling a huge pull with my current decks lately - maybe time to shake things up!
